Mary Kay Hyde-Bohn describes herself as a person with an obsessive curiosity.
“I am the one who always asks questions.” She laughingly says she has both a commendation and a reprimand for asking “rude” questions. But in business settings, Hyde-Bohn isn’t kidding. She wants to know about both the overall process and the details. Her backstory gives a hint as to her inclination to be prepared. “Living in the Midwest through blizzards and tornadoes – sometimes in the same week – I had to be prepared personally and professionally.”
Creating this workbook as a tool to support small businesses and enable them to define their business continuity information comes naturally to her. Decades of corporate project and risk management, coupled with small business employment keenly sharpened her abilities to get down to the basics. She has written two detailed business handbooks for IBM Electronic Services as well as multiple internal courses and manuals. Asking questions IS her process.
Mary Kay believes a person is either part of the solution or part of the problem; she chooses to be part of the solution. She created the workbook, “Make Sure Your Business Never Screeches to a Halt Again: An Emergency Preparedness Workbook & Resource” and the corresponding “Starter Kit”, and is asking you the ‘rude’ questions that only you and your team can address.
